Lent: Climbing the Mountain Road
PRESENTER: Mary Ann Spina,M.Div., Pastoral Associate

Lent is a time to consider where we’re at in life and where we’re heading. We’ll journey with Jesus to four mountains: Mount of Temptation, Mount of Olives, Mount of Calvary, and Mount of the Ascension – encountering the places of wilderness and temptation in our lives, of loneliness, fear and darkness, and embrace our struggles in faith toward trust and acceptance of God’s unbounded love for us.

Mary Ann Spina, Pastoral Associate at Holy Cross Parish in Deerfield, IL, directs their RCIA program, Faith in Action Volunteers and the marriage preparation program. She also teaches a weekly Scripture class and is very active in the area clergy association, especially in Christian-Jewish relations. She has worked with outreach programs to the homeless, ministry to the divorced and separated, and spiritual direction.

Mary Ann has Master’s degrees from Catholic Theological Union, Loyola and Northeastern Illinois universities. She is a certified Myers-Briggs administrator, has done much work with the Enneagram and is a certified laughter leader.
