Margaret’s Lemonade Stand is coming to the Shrine June 27!  (after both Masses)

Margaret is a young entrepreneur who, in 2019 at the age of 8 years old, created a lemonade stand that would change the way people viewed a cup of lemonade. At first, Margaret’s stand was in her house for her family and friends as practice for an outside one the following year.

When the next year approached – things did not go according to plan – the Covid-19 pandemic had begun. While watching the news one day on the reopening of schools, it was reported that the children would be returning in person. Margaret stood in front of the TV with a concerned look and said, “Kids are going to be scared to wear a mask, especially the little ones. They need a fun mask to wear and I’m going to buy them.” How would she do that? With her lemonade stand!

Margaret surpassed her goal and with the remaining funds, applied them to other places in need. The stand closed for the school year so Margaret could concentrate on schoolwork. She still manages to do a pop-up stand here and there to help her community.

Margaret finds a recipient, advertises that she is fundraising for, in this case, The Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii. You can follow her progress on InstaGram & FB, where you can see her goal, and what she raises daily. She also travels to farmers’ markets and other places to raise money for her goal.

Margaret’s Lemonade Stand BEGINS Shrine fundraising Sunday, June 27, following the 8:30 & 11 a.m. Masses. She is raising funds to repair the arm of our 100-year-old statue of Christ on the crucifix and will continue until she reaches her goal. Lemonade donations are freewill, any amount is welcome. Monies that exceed her Shrine goal, go to other community needs.

What does the future of Margaret’s Lemonade Stand hold as she gets older? It is a question that is often asked. Hopefully by the time she comes of age, Margaret will have a “Margaret’s Lemonade Stand” food truck. It will sell more than lemonade and her lemonade sales will continue to benefit charities.
